2025 DEV BLOG

Hello Hello!

What a year it has been! Aside from a few development breaks, we have been hard at work building, designing, and polishing our game. We may be biased, but it is looking pretty good.

We wanted to talk about the overall state of the game, and answer some questions that we have been asked, and finally announce a major change coming to not only the game, but the community. Some of this may seem like repeat info, and some of it is, but this is a complete blog going over all the info that we have release this year, so strap in!

Current Progress

Currently, we have a few levels in the final stages, and one level in the last stage. This level will be one of the levels in the prologue, so you should see it soon! The other levels we have in the final stages will be seen later down the road, and we excited to show them off in the future.

Release Schedules

Currently nothing is set in stone, but we do have some hopeful dates.

Early Access Demo: February 2026

Open Access Demo: March 2026

The Prologue: May 2026

Sector 01: August 2026

Expect a roadmap by the end of the year, which will include trailers and releases!

As always, these dates are subject to change.

Game Engines

Initially, we were using Unity, however after additional considerations, we have fully switched to Unreal Engine 5. Due to factors like ease of in engine editing, lighting (Lumen), and a multitude of other factors. We believe that this change is very beneficial to the game graphics and optimization.

Cost

Since we are releasing episodically, this means we can lower the initial price! As of right now, and this can change, we are pricing the Prologue at USD$5.99, and Sectors at USD$9.99.

Can We Get A Trailer?

Yes! We believe that The Prologue Pt.1 is almost trailer ready, but Pt.2 is not. We really want to deliver high quality trailers, so once we release our next trailer, we will likely take down the ne we currently have up, since it showcases some levels that have been changed or look bad in the trailer.

Console Release?

At this time, we are not anticipating a console release at launch of the Prologue. There is a lot of stuff that has to happen in the background for us to release on console, and right now we are focused on getting the Prologue shipped on Windows. If and when we have an update on a console release, we will announce that.

What About Multiplayer?

We have made the decision for the entirety of the story to be single player only, although we are considering adding additional game modes, some of which may support Multiplayer.

Development Stream Soon!

Yes, you read that right. Soon we will be hosting our very first Patreon Only Development Live Stream, with included Q&A! Patreon Subscribers at ANY level (excluding free) will have access to this. A time and date will be announced soon.

Patreon Benefits

As talked about before, those who subscribe to our Patreon will receive the following perks when it comes to the game:

Liminal ++ and Liminal Pro will get Free Early Access to the Demo (Windows)

Liminal Pro will get free access to The Prologue (Windows)

Please note that you must be a subscribed member at the respective release, at the respective tier, for access.

About Social Media Teasers

We have been posting a few teasers here and there, but only still pictures, and we want to change that! We plan to start posting video teasers soon, some of which will be of areas related to further Sectors. Stay Tuned!

Growing The Dev Team

If you look in our Discord, we do have some positions open, and I have decided that these positions will be paid via Revenue Share. If you are interested in the joining the team , take a look in the Discord!

So, what is Liminalophobia?

Well, it is the name of the game. Wait, no it's not, not anymore. That's right, we are changing the name of the game!

So what's the new name?

Drum roll please...

Interstitial!

Why did we change names? While we won't go super in depth, the reasons are valid, and to be honest, the new name is just better, and more relevant to the plot of our game. Once this Dev Blog goes live, please give us some time to get everything transferred over to the new name!

Press Kit Info

We have decided, in lieu of the name change, we will be releasing a press kit. We will be uploading this press kit on our website! Expect to see this soon!! What you can see now, is part of our press kit, which is attached to this post!

Wait, website?

Yep, that's right, we are making a website! This is where some updates, press kits, release details, and state of the game blogs will be posted! Expect the website to go live within the next week or so! If you are reading this, it is live!

Well, So What Is Interstitial?

We have finalized the description for the game, which you can read below:

When his younger brother Sam vanishes without a trace in the middle of the night, Max is pulled into a search that leads far beyond the walls of home. A trail of cryptic clues draws him to the Interstice Facility, a sprawling, abandoned research complex once used to study fear itself.

Inside, reality bends.

Rooms repeat. Hallways breathe. Pools hum with fluorescent light. Flooded stations echo with unseen movement. The deeper Max goes, the more the world warps into fabricated “environments” designed to measure human terror.

Somewhere within these impossible spaces, Sam is still out there.

Max must navigate shifting liminal worlds, uncover the purpose of the Interstice Program, and confront what the facility has been hiding, all while something unseen tracks his every move.

Thanks For The Support!

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting us throughout development, it means the world, and we are so excited to release all of the hard work we have been doing!
